Krista Wilbur's Obituary
Krista Ruth (Winslow) Wilbur was welcomed into the world on December 27, 1957, in Springfield, Ohio. She would soon find her loving parents, Victor and Dorothy (Gormel) Mastron, in Arizona, where her journey as an only child in a military family began. Krista's early years were filled with rich experiences, living in Hawaii, Arizona, and California as her father's career took them to new and exciting places.
It was in Southern California where she met Rodger Wilbur. Together, they built a life and a large, loving family, welcoming seven children: Kim, Rodger Jr., Jenny, Mindy, Cindi, Kathy, and Jason.
A flower child at heart, Krista was drawn to the beauty of nature, music, sunsets, and all things filled with positive energy. She had a creative spirit and a deep love for the arts. She was a gifted cook and baker, and her kitchen was always a place of warmth and comfort. Above all else, Krista cherished her family.
In the mid-1980s, the Wilbur family relocated to Cushing, Oklahoma, where they quickly became part of the community. Krista shared her love of food by owning and operating Krissy's Kountry Kitchen in downtown Cushing for a time. Later, she found her true calling as a patient navigator in healthcare-a role that perfectly suited her compassionate and nurturing nature.
During retirement, Krista found joy in the simple things: spending time with her grandchildren, filling her home with music, and tending to her garden-especially her beloved daisies.
Sweet, kind, and genuine-these are just a few of the words that describe Krista. She had a unique ability to connect with people and often "collected" many along the way who now consider her family.
One of Krista's favorite sayings that she would want to leave with all who loved her:
"The mail is going to run, and the sun is going to shine."
Krista passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025, at her home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her seven children-Kim, Rodger Jr., Jenny, Mindy, Cindi, Kathy, and Jason-as well as nine grandchildren---Dylan, Drake, Riley, Jayden, Devin, Kayne, Bralee, Royce, Stryker and four great-grandchildren---Lochlan, Cooper, Lilli and Aiden.
Her vibrant spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
