Kenneth Coley passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023 at his Bixby residence. A private service will be held by Kenneth's family to honor his life. He was 69 years old.
Born August 14, 1953 in Tulsa, Kenneth was the son of Robert Lee and Lyndell F. Moore Coley. He grew up in a military family, living all over the United States. His father was a Marine, followed by a long career as a government contractor. Kenneth moved to the Tulsa area in 1964 where they eventually would make Bixby their home. He graduated from Bixby High School with the Class of 1971.
Following high school, Kenneth attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. He studied Criminal Justice, graduating from Northeastern State in 1976. Kenneth pursued a career as a social worker in Child Welfare for the Department of Human Services for the next 8 years. He also managed the grocery store offices for several Reasor's locations, including Tahlequah, Bixby, and Tulsa. Kenneth retired from Reasor's in 2018.
Kindness exemplified Kenneth Coley's personality and character. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Kenneth had the most beautiful white beard. He played the role of Santa Claus for over 20 years in malls, parades, and child welfare events. Kenneth enjoyed shooting pool, bowling, playing golf with his son, and just talking sports in general. He loved the Dallas Cowboys.
Surviving family include his children, Sarah Wyssmann and Adam Coley; his grandchildren, Harper Wyssmann and Connor Coley; and his sister, Bobbie Rosenthal.
Kenneth was preceded in death by parents.
