Kenneth Walker Arenson

Kenneth Walker Arenson, born on May 29, 1985, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was the cherished son of Brian Wells and Susan (Graham) Arenson and grew up in the Spring Tree neighborhood, attending Key Elementary and then Bixby Public Schools. Kenneth, the eldest of three boys, shared his childhood adventures with his two brothers, Kevin and Stephen. During his school years, Kenneth found his passion for music. He played the drums in the marching band and guitar in the jazz band. He also pursued karate alongside his siblings. His career path led him to OSU Okmulgee for heating and air training and later to Platt College where he became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Kenneth's journey into healthcare was influenced by a nurse named Arnold, who provided compassionate care after an auto accident in 2008. Kenneth transitioned from heating and air work to pursue a career in healthcare. Known for his laid-back demeanor and kind heart, Kenneth served in various home healthcare settings, touching the lives of many with his empathy and care. Outside of his professional life, Kenneth was a true music enthusiast. His house was filled with a variety of instruments, including an accordion, a set of bagpipes, and his recent purchase of a balalaika. He also had multiple guitars and enjoyed playing anything with strings. His eclectic taste even led him to own a theremin and other ways of synthesizing music. Kenneth's interest in music led to his attending a multitude of concerts and he kept a scrapbook with all his concert ticket stubs. Kenneth and his Dad enjoyed many concerts together and these included a wide selection of musical styles - from Tool to Hank Williams, Jr. Kenneth even took his much-loved grandmother to Dallas for a concert with Andrea Bocelli. Kenneth was a good friend to many people and loved to chat with whoever sat next to him at a concert. He kept in touch with friends from heating and air training, former coworkers from nursing jobs, former patients from homes he worked in, as well as friends or family from patients. Another hobby of Kenneth's was arrowhead hunting, again something often done with his father. They liked the time being outdoors together, but Kenneth would also hop in a kayak, maybe with his dog Monty, and take to the water at the family's lake cabin. His gentle spirit and passion for life left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Kenneth Walker Arenson passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at his Bixby residence at the age of 38. He is survived by his parents, Brian Wells and Susan Arenson; brothers, Kevin Arenson (and wife Annabel) and Stephen Arenson (and wife Kelsey); nephew, Wyatt; and grandparents, Elvin, and Doris Graham. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Edwin Arenson and grandmother, Gloria Arenson. A service celebrating Kenneth's life will be held at 2 PM on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Bixby First Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Dr. Trevor Smith. Kenneth will be dearly missed and remembered fondly for his compassion, love of music, and unwavering kindness.
