Katherine Ruth Carey, 70, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, June 30, 2026, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
Kathy was born on February 7, 1956, in Everett, Washington, to John and Maxine Williams. She graduated from Cascade High School in Everett before attending Everett Community College. She worked for Boeing as a technical writer before later serving in the medical field at Providence Health Systems.
She raised her only son, Michael, in Everett, Washington, before eventually moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to be closer to family. Katherine was a devoted member of the Salvation Army Church, where her deep faith and servant's heart found a natural home. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to helping others through charitable work, always ready to offer a helping hand, a listening ear, or a kind word to anyone in need.
Kathy found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved crocheting and cooking and was known by everyone who met her for her infectious laughter, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. She had a remarkable ability to brighten a room and make people feel welcome, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Kathy is survived by her son, Michael Carey, and his wife, Daniela; her siblings, Carol Rutten, Robert "Bob" Williams, and John "Stan" Williams; her beloved cousins, Shirley Brown and Gladys Williams; and many other cherished family members and dear friends whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maxine Williams.
Kathy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, generous heart, warm spirit, and the joy she brought to those around her. Though she will be deeply missed, her love, laughter, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
