Kathaleen Lavee Turner's Obituary
Kathaleen "Kathy" Lavee Turner, age 77, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, at Porta Caeli House in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love she had so generously given throughout her life.
Kathy was born July 19, 1948, in Tulsa, the beloved daughter of Damon Hall and Letha (Green) Hall. She grew up in the Tulsa area and graduated with the Bixby High School Class of 1966, where she was a proud member of the school band, playing flute.
It was during those high school years that fate intervened in the best possible way - a blind date arranged by mutual friends introduced her to the man who would become her partner in life. Kathy and Paul Turner were married in 1967 in downtown Bixby, beginning a life built on love, laughter, and an open door for anyone who needed either.
Kathy made her home in Bixby, where she raised her children. For more than 20 years, she operated Kathy's Daycare out of her home, pouring her heart into the early years of countless children. She took great pride in watching those children grow up, and found particular joy in caring for multiple generations of the same families.
As a mother, Kathy was always present. She never missed a family event, whether it was a football game, a cheerleading competition, a pageant, or any moment that mattered to those she loved.
Outside of family and caregiving, Kathy had a warm and creative spirit. She loved crafts and crocheting, and especially enjoyed browsing craft fairs alongside her daughter Kelly. Trips to Branson, Missouri, were a favorite getaway, where she delighted in the live music shows - particularly Mickey Gilley and the Baldknobbers. Country music was simply part of who she was.
Kathy was a former member of Riverview Baptist Church and Shellenbarger Baptist Church.
Kathaleen Turner is survived by her son, Tim Turner, and his wife Katherine; three grandchildren, Kelsey Bullard and her fiance Armando Briseno, Kimberly and her husband David Moore, and Kody Bullard; and her great-grandson, Daytona Bullard. She was preceded in death by her parents, Damon and Letha Hall, and her daughter, Kelly Turner.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2026, in the Rivercrest Chapel, with a visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Bixby Cemetery.
