Juanita Avaline Simpson's Obituary
Juanita Avaline Simpson, 90, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on July 2, 2025, at Clarehouse in Tulsa.
Born on August 7, 1934, in Tulsa, Juanita was the beloved daughter of Chattie and Juanita (McGee) Mailes. She graduated from Central High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1952.
Juanita devoted the first twenty years of her adult life to being a loving mother and dedicated housewife. When her children were grown, she embarked on a remarkable thirty-year career that spanned three fulfilling positions. She began as a police dispatcher for the Tulsa Police Department, followed by her role as a receptionist and intake clerk at the Veterans Administration Clinic in Tulsa. She concluded her working years as a security officer for Burns and Securitas Security Agencies.
At a young age, Juanita accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior while attending Nogales Avenue Baptist Church in Tulsa. She was a faithful member of Parkview Baptist Church in Tulsa.
Juanita's greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. She delighted in reading to them, playing games, and sharing stories of her childhood and the "good old days." Her warmth and storytelling created cherished memories that will be treasured by her family for generations.
She is survived by her son, Gary Simpson and his wife Amanda; her daughter, Anita Joy Simpson; grandchildren Mandy Simpson, Gary William Simpson, and Sundi McDaniel; and great-grandchildren Colleen Simpson, Madison Simpson-Koyn, and Sommer McDaniel.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Chattie and Juanita Mailes; her grandson, Andrew Simpson; her great-grandson, Evan Simpson; and her brother, Bobby Seawright.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Haskell Cemetery, with Pastor Jake Adams officiating.
Juanita's legacy of love, faith, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
