Joyce was born in Bixby, Oklahoma on June 26, 1946. She was born to Nelson and Naomi “Beatrice” Jackson. She married her childhood sweetheart Wendell Goff on February 15, 1962. They were happily married for nearly 60 years until his untimely death in 2015.
She graduated from Booker T. Washington while married with a new family. After graduation she became a specialist for City Services of Tulsa for many years, until her and her husband decided to move back to Bixby to continue raising their children. So she became a clothing designer called Vincinthia’s after her daughter, designing and selling clothes which was successful for many years.
She dedicated herself as one of Jehovah’s Witness in October 1982. She loved reading God’s word daily and hourly. She encouraged all she came in contact with to do the same. She also never missed watching jw.org, staying abreast of any new information.
Joyce fell asleep in death on August 16th after a long battle from a stroke she suffered in 2015.
Joyce was preceded in death by her Husband: Wendell Goff, her Grandson: Qualyn Goff, Brothers: Jimmie Jackson, Wayne Jackson, Harry Jackson and Stanley Jackson. Sisters: Barbara Fields, June Thompson, Sandra Edwards.
Joyce has the following members surviving her:
Vincinthia LaChon Goff (Chon), Lawrence Edward Goff (Jerry), Wendell Goff (Lil Bud) her Stepson, fifteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren. Two Brothers: Nelson Jackson Jr. and Jackie (Ruby) Jackson; Four Sisters: Evelyn Abdullah, Frances (Troy) Driver, Dianne Jackson and Patricia AlSharif, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
We celebrate her life today as she would want us to, not with a lot of sadness, but with strong hearts determined as she was to continue loving one another in love and sharing our memories of her with each other.
