Joyce Ann Clow Moses' Obituary
Joyce Moses Obituary
Joyce Ann Clow Moses, a one-of-a-kind spirit whose laughter filled rooms from Tulsa to Dallas, died Tuesday, March 26, 2019, in a Carrollton, Texas, hospital. Her last days were spent surrounded by family and friends as her long battle against the effects of a stroke suffered in 2016 came to an end. She was 78.Joyce, or Granny to her family, lived her life in vivid color, a many-faceted woman whose passions ranged from her family to interior decorating, reading, country music and her beloved Oklahoma City Thunder and Texas Rangers. One of her last text messages to family the night of her stroke was to express concerns about the state of Rangers' pitching during a playoff game.Joyce was a lifelong resident of Tulsa and its suburbs before moving closer to family in the Dallas area in 2017. She was fiercely proud of her children, which includes Denise Herrera and her husband, Rudy, of Flower Mound, Texas; Michelle Moses of Plano, Texas; Lori Howard, and her husband, Jeff, of Mason, Ohio; Kent Best and his wife, Gina, of Plano, Texas; and Duane Ray Moses of Springfield, Missouri, and his wife, Kathy (deceased). She adored her grandchildren, Brittany Flores and husband, Carlos; Tyler Howard; Meghan and Sophia Herrera; Parker and Zackrey Howard; Annelise Best; Renae Bridges and her husband, Edwin; Dallas Moses; and her great grandchildren, Xander Flores; and Jaxson and Mackenzie Bridges.Joyce was born a Leo, "can't you tell," on July 31, 1940, in Tulsa to Claudia Laura Clow and Earnest Earl (Monte) Clow, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1958. She was married for 33 years to Duane Moses, who also preceded her in death. She leaves behind many friends and extended family that she loved dearly, always remembering birthdays and somehow knowing when a handwritten note of encouragement or celebration was in order for those she loved. The world is a quieter place since she's gone, but we can imagine the jokes and laughter that are new to Heaven, with Joyce bustling about, selecting just the right colors and accessories for her new home, her eyes wide with joy.A celebration of Joyce's color-filled life will be 2:00 pm Saturday, April 6, 2019 at River Crest Chapel.Memorial donations may be made to the American Stroke Association.Celebration Of Life RiverCrest Chapel 13329 S.
