Joseph David Harp's Obituary
Joseph David "JD" Harp passed away on June 24, 2024, at the age of 75 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on July 14, 1948, in Fairfax, Oklahoma, JD was known for his humility, honesty and strong religious convictions. He was a thoughtful man, with uncompromising integrity, quiet generosity and unquestionable ability to bring a room to laughter. He will be missed greatly but the joy and grace he brought to so many lives will never come to pass. His memory will never be forgotten.
JD enjoyed a fulfilling career as a homebuilder and developer in Tulsa metro, a passion he pursued for nearly 50 years. He attended the Carbondale Church of Christ for many years.
JD was an avid bass fisherman and accomplished golfer, seldom seen without his thermos of black coffee nearby. Always ready to fire up the Hasty Bake, JD thoroughly enjoyed hosting family and friends to countless barbecues, but his favorite pastime was his six grandchildren who called him Papa.
JD is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marcella; children: Joey Harp, DiAnna Harp and Heather Elias (Eric); grandchildren: Daniel, Nathan, Max, Spencer, Avery and Trevor; sister, Janice Schow (Randy); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jaunita Cheney and her husband, John; father, Joseph Harp and siblings: Toni, Jody and Jack.
Services will be held on 11:00 am, Friday, June 28, 2024 at Rivercrest Chapel, 13329 S. Memorial Dr., Bixby, Oklahoma. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mountain States Children's Home, 14780 n. 107TH St, Longmont, CO 80504.
