Jose Eduardo Del Cid's Obituary
Jose Eduardo Del Cid, beloved husband, father, and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, at Porta Caeli House in Tulsa. He was 81 years old.
Born on March 19, 1945, in Guatemala, Jose was the son of Arturo Galvez and Maria Del Cid de Galvez. He completed his schooling in Guatemala and, at the age of 17, made the courageous journey to the United States, drawn by a deep love for this country and the dream of one day becoming a pilot. California became his new home, and it was there that his American story truly began.
It was in San Francisco that Jose met the love of his life, Ana. The two were united in marriage on June of 1969 at St. Anthony Church in San Francisco, beginning a partnership built on love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Throughout their years together, Jose was Ana's greatest supporter and protector - a true angel in her life. He took great joy and pride in providing for his family and always made sure as a husband and father that he fulfilled thar rule to the utmost of his ability. Jose always put his family's needs first, above all else, a trait that spoke to his generous spirit and his desire to be there for his family.
Jose built a distinguished career serving the City of San Francisco as an accountant before pursuing his passion for hands-on work, eventually rising to become a general contractor and supervisor in the construction and site cleanup industry. His work ethic was a reflection of the same dedication he brought to every aspect of his life.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jose's greatest joy was time spent with those he loved. In his younger year's he cherished taking his children to the lakes of the surrounding area and was happiest on the water - whether fishing, boating, or simply enjoying a quiet afternoon with family. He and Ana shared a deep love of dancing, and the two could often be found moving together with the ease and grace of lifelong partners. Above all else, family was Jose's compass and his purpose.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ana Milagro Del Cid; and his sons, Jose Eduardo Del Cid, Jr., Nelson Arturo Del Cid, and George Alfredo Del Cid; along with other cherished family members and friends whose lives were forever enriched by his presence.
Jose Edwardo Del Cid lived a life of purpose, generosity, and love.
May he rest in the peace he so graciously gave to others.
