John David Einsig's Obituary
John David Einsig, 80, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Clarehouse in Tulsa.
Born October 24, 1944, in York, Pennsylvania, John was the son of Percy and Orpha (Meads) Einsig. He grew up outside York in the community of Dover, where he attended both junior high and high school. During his high school years, John was an active athlete, participating in wrestling and track. He cherished many fishing trips with his father and older brother, Barry.
John pursued his higher education at Ottawa University in Kansas, where he studied Biology and Chemistry, earned his teaching certificate and graduated in 1967. It was there he met his wife, Beverlee. The couple married on March 30, 1968, in the chapel of Ottawa University.
His career in education began with Tulsa Public Schools in Beverlee's hometown. The couple briefly returned to Pennsylvania, where John taught high school biology and chemistry. John earned his master's degree at Wichita State University while teaching junior high science in Augusta, Kansas. In 1972, they settled permanently in Tulsa, where they raised their five children.
Following his teaching career, John transitioned to work as a chemist at Ozark Mahoning for almost 30 years. He concluded his professional journey at Advance Research Chemicals, where he worked for almost 15 years before his recent retirement.
John was a man of structure and routine who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed reading history and mystery books and watching PBS murder mysteries. He liked studying German and Spanish on the computer. He often took walks in his neighborhood.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Orpha Einsig; his brother, Barry; his sister, Louise Ann; and his beloved son, David. He is survived by his devoted wife, Beverlee; and their four children.
Following a private family gathering, John will be laid to rest near his son, David, in Calvary Cemetery.
