Services to honor and remember the life of Jenny Bledsoe will be 11 AM Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in the RiverCrest Chapel, Bixby. Family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 9 AM for visitation. Jenny passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 in Tulsa. She was 74.Born August 26, 1943 in Waco, Texas, Jenny was the second daughter born to Willie Lee and Opal Margaret (Thompson) Bledsoe. A baby sister to Sandra, Jenny and Sandra would grow up close in age and develop a strong bond of sisterhood over the years. Moving to Tulsa in their youth, the girls attended Tulsa schools. Jenny was a member of the first graduating class of Nathan Hale High School in 1961. She then furthered her education, attending and graduating from the University of Tulsa. As a career, Jenny found employment with INCOG. She was successful in this endeavor and retired after 25 years of service. When not at work, Jenny enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. In addition, she was an avid book reader. Described as intelligent and independent, Jenny was a woman who knew how to care for herself. She was a survivor and depended upon very few. However, she was extremely close to her grandson, Tyler who has been a constant support and caregiver to Jenny. This sister, mother and grandmother will be missed by those family members she leaves to carry on her legacy. They include: her daughter, Brenda Allison Witt and husband, Brian of Norman; grandchildren: Tyler Allred and Derek Witt; sister, Sandra Sterk and husband, Jim of Tulsa; a nephew, David Sterk and wife, Brenda of Broken Arrow and their son, Jake.
