Jeffrey Jay Steinke's Obituary
Jeffrey Jay Steinke
December 23, 1949-February 12, 2026
We are saddened to announce the death of our dear brother and brother-in-law, Jeff Steinke. All who knew him loved him. He was bigger than life and lit up a room when he entered. His large size, moustache, smile, and occasional cowboy hat were unforgettable. When you first met Jeff, you came to know his sense of humor and his kindness. When you got to know him, you discovered his broad knowledge and intelligence and were really impressed. We all wanted him to go on Jeopardy, because we knew he would be a winner. A lawyer by profession and an avid world traveler, Jeff particularly enjoyed all things British, having traveled to Great Britain, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. He was an expert on the London Underground, loved English pubs, and was also a certified Scottish "Laird". He enjoyed friendships with a variety of people around the world, and treasured time spent in fellowship with them. He was always a real gentleman with the ladies. He was a proud graduate of the University of Tulsa and had a close circle of friends from his undergraduate days, as well as his law school days. After graduation, he particularly enjoyed continued fellowship with his fraternity brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha. He also made many new friends through his oil business dealings and also enjoyed the many friends he made while holding court at Sutures, his favorite local watering hole. He had endless stories and could keep a group captivated for hours. We will miss his funny sayings that made us laugh: "Good Gravy", "Holy Cow", and "Jeepers". We are grateful to Jeff's special friends in his last few months: Curt Lawson, Rick Hoffman, John Leenerts, Trish Kaase, Mike Seymour, and Pat Payton. Thank you for your kind words and much needed help during this difficult time. We could not have handled it alone. We will have a Celebration of Life for Jeff later and will contact all of Jeff's friends with details. Until then,
Love,
Ken and Kristina Steinke
