Jean Ann Hankins' Obituary
Jean Ann "Jeanie" Hankins, 66, passed away surrounded by her family on April 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength, fierce love, and selfless devotion.
Jeanie was born on October 30, 1959, at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the youngest of four children to Jim and Gladys (Robison) Lollis. She spent her early years in Tulsa before her family moved to Henryetta during her freshman year of high school. Jeanie enjoyed playing softball and participating in the jazz band, where she showcased her musical talents on both the clarinet and saxophone. Jeanie met the love of her life Ronald "Ron" Hankins while in high school and the two began dating in 1976. She graduated from Henryetta High School with the Class of 1977.
Following high school, Jeanie pursued her education at Northeastern State University, where she played collegiate softball as both a pitcher and shortstop. She later transferred to Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee, earning her degree in data processing and accounting. After graduation from college, Ron and Jeanie were united in marriage on September 20, 1980. Together, they built a life in Broken Arrow where they raised their two daughters Heather and Kristin.
Jeanie built a successful career as a computer programmer, working for Arrow Specialty Company, Reda Pump, and later FlightSafety International. She dedicated 40 years to her profession before retiring in 2021.
Jeanie was a woman of action and sharp intellect. She was constantly on-the-go. Jeanie loved softball, hunting, fishing, and dominating the family leader board in word games.
Her greatest joy, however, was her role as "Grandma." She shared a special connection with her grandkids that transcended even the most difficult days. Even as she faced the late stages of dementia, her love for her grandkids remained an untouchable part of her soul.
It would be impossible to perfectly describe how wonderful Jeanie was and the impact she had on the lives of others. She possessed a remarkable work ethic and a quiet determination that defined her life. Jeanie was known for her shy and gentle nature and lived by the principle of putting others first, navigating the world with a generosity and compassion that made people feel truly seen, understood, and valued.
Jeanie is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Ron Hankins; daughters, Heather Hankins and Kristin Castaneda and husband Jack; her beloved grandchildren, Zeke and Norah Castaneda; her brothers, Floyd Lollis and wife Lynne, and Bruce Lollis and wife Robin; her brother-in-law, Richard Biby; her brother-in-law, Fred Hankins and wife Gloria, and sister-in-law, Trecia Wilson and husband Drew; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Gladys
Lollis; her parents-in-law, Fred and Betty Hankins; her sister, Barbara Biby; and her sister-in-law, Patricia Barker and husband Mike.
