Janice "Jan" Carr's Obituary
Janice Carr Obituary
Born June 2, 1948 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Janice was the daughter of James Henry and Jephy Earl (Ward) Beasley. At the tender age of five, Jan's father passed away. In 1957, Jephy and her daughters relocated to Joplin, Missouri.Receiving her education in Joplin, Jan was classmates with a young man named William "Bill" Carr. It would be following their graduation that the two made a lasting connection which resulted in marriage. This union occurred on April 14, 1973. In 1977, the two were pleased to welcome their son, William Louis "Billy" Carr, IV. There was no denying that Jan loved her son more than anything in the world and she was so very proud of him!As a career, Jan and Bill both worked for the Tulsa World as they made their home in Bixby. In addition to work, Jan had a passion for rescuing pups. She loved all kinds, but was especially fond of French Bulldogs. In her spare time, Jan could be found curled up next to one of her pups, Hannah or Elroy, and reading. She would read anything and everything, but preferred Stephen King novels. Janice loved going out to fine restaurants. She had an exuberant love of life and was liked by virtually everyone she met.She was a gentle person but had the strength of steel. She met the adversities life threw at her head on and without complaint. Jan passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 in Tulsa. She was 70. This loving wife, mother and sister will certainly be missed by those she leaves to carry on her legacy. Those left to cherish Jan's memory include: her husband, William "Bill" Carr of the home; son, Billy Carr and wife, Joy; sisters: Jimmye Dean Fagan and Brad of Joplin, MO and Judy Marcum of Carl Junction, MO. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.Service RiverCrest Chapel 13329 S.
