James Leaster Marshall, Jr.'s Obituary
James Leaster Marshall Jr., a proud Navy veteran who served aboard the USS Hopewell, passed away surrounded by his loving family. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and raised in Alabama, James was the son of the late Mildred Matte O'Hara Marshall and James Leaster Marshall Sr.
He is survived by his three children: Jacquie Marshall, Aaron and Kim Marshall, Jamie and Craig Williams.
He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren: Rachael Pebley and her husband, Brad Pebley (and their children, Brecklyn, Mckylee, Embersyn, and Quinnly Pebley), Jude Starling, Jeremy Hamerquist, Aidan Hamerquist, Eryn Marshall, Dillion Cranford and his wife, Layne Cranford (and their children, Mavis, Saiglee, and Bryer Cranford), Jack Davenport, Tristan Williams, and Kate Williams.
He is also survived by his beloved sister, Gay Lynn Marshall, and her children, Sherry McClanahan and David Dobson, along with his loyal dog, Rad, who was always by his side.
James had an incredible heart for others, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. He worked as a skilled marine mechanic and retired from Jack Cooper Transport, where he was highly respected for his dedication and expertise. Beyond his work, James loved walking, spending time with his family, and riding his Harley motorcycle on the open road, embracing life with a spirit of freedom and joy.
James lived a life filled with love, service, and compassion. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
