James Russell Holland's Obituary
James Russell Holland, known to all who loved him simply as Russell, was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Charles and Anna (Wilson) Holland. He raised his family in Wagoner, Oklahoma - the place he proudly called home for many years. Russell passed in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 76.
Russell was a machinist for over 30 years, a career that reflected his precision, dedication, and work ethic. After retiring from machining, he continued to work as an event coordinator at RiverSpirit Casino, where his reliability was valued by both coworkers and guests alike.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Anna Holland; his wives, Marian (Folsom) Holland and Dana (Potter) Holland; and his brothers Pete Holland and Robert Holland.
He is survived by his daughters, Kristi Owen and husband Gerry, of Maize, Oklahoma, and Anna Holland of Bixby, Oklahoma; his beloved grandchildren Nicholas Owen and wife Allison, Hanna Owen, Landon Holland, and Caden Hill; and his brothers Glen Holland and wife Pam, and Tom Holland and wife Marcia.
Russell found his greatest joy in the simple things - cooking for those he loved, fishing, hunting, woodworking, and spending time at the lake. He had a sarcastic wit, a stubborn streak, and a quiet nature that often spoke louder than words. He was deeply hardworking, loyal, and the kind of man who showed his love through actions more than words.
Those who knew Russell will remember his dry humor, his strong hands, and the steady way he cared for the people in his life. His presence was grounding, and his love was constant.
A Celebration of Life will be held 3 PM Friday, January 9, 2026 in the Great Room.
