Jack Norris Obituary
Jack H. Norris was born in 1952, and passed away on March 4, 2024, at the age of 71 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He grew up in Tulsa and attended Will Rogers High School, where he ran track and field. Upon graduation, he attended NEO, where he met his future wife, Pamela Sue Bonar. They married in the summer of 1972 (51 years). Together, they transferred to the University of Oklahoma (Go Sooners!), where Jack received his degree in Political Science. He would later go back to school and receive certification in hostage negotiation. In 1977, Jack and Sue gave birth to their eldest son, Shon Ryan Norris (wife, Tara Zoebelein). In 1983, they gave birth to their second son, Kyle Remington Norris (partner, Jaime Leonardelli). In 2014 and 2019, he became a grandfather to Jackson and Jordan (children of Shon and Tara). Jack spent more than 30 years working with Tulsa's Troop B Highway Patrol, working his way up to Captain of Communication. During the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995, Jack helped lead the portable command station to assist in the bombing recovery. He also taught hostage negotiation classes across the country.Jack Norris was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, teacher, and mentor. He loved the ocean and visiting new places. He was a reader of books and a fan of spy movies and westerns. The Beach Boys were one of his favorite bands. As an anchor of the Norris family, Jack will be missed dearly by all.A gathering will be at 3:00pm April 6, 2024 at the Norris home.
