Holly was an identical twin born on December 28, 1973, to Anita and Bing Vassaur in Tulsa. She is survived by her father, Bing and stepmom, Pat; twin sister, Kristy Vassaur; brother, John Vassaur, all of Tulsa; and niece, Rebekah; nephew, Nathan; niece, Rachel; brother and sister-inlaw, Robert Mitchell and Laura Brewer; niece, Amelia; nephew, Elliott; niece, Charlotte and cousin, Jeff Manring, all of Phoenix. Holly graduated from Tulsa Edison High School in 1992 and graduated Phi Theta Kappa from the Oklahoma State University Culinary School in 2009. Holly was a trained chef and worked throughout the Southwest for the Princess Fairmont Hotel in Scottsdale, Arizona, the Dallas Cowboys in Irvine, Texas, the Tulsa Drillers, and the Cedar Ridge Country Club in Tulsa. Holly was a talented singer/songwriter who packed up her guitar in 1996 and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. She received attention from various artist and representation agents, recorded an E.P., and appeared on nationally televised programs. In 1997, Holy appeared in a Rolling Stone Magazine-produced documentary that featured international songwriters and artists. Holly’s segment focused on music she had written for her disabled twin sister and the unique bond and love they shared. Following her segment on the program was an interview with one of her musical influences, Keith Richards; Holly was in good company. Holly was a dedicated caregiver for her twin sister for more than half of her life. Her heart was always reaching out to serve her community, volunteering to create and moderate online social pages for service men and women. Holly was proud of her volunteer work with the National Psoriasis Foundation, organizing fundraising events in Tulsa and speaking at their Regional Conference in Chicago. Holly appeared in an inspiring magazine article titled "More Than Skin Deep." Published by HealthCentral, the article showcased how artists diagnosed with psoriasis strive daily to find beauty throughout their lives and expressed through their art. Holly’s mantra was, “I take on the challenge!” Our sweet Holly was forever joyful, spirited, positive, had a bright smile that would light up a room, and shared a loving-hearted soul with all she met.
