Harolyne Bacon Obituary
Harolyne Ann Bacon passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa at the age of 77. She was born January 8, 1944, also at St. John’s in Tulsa. Harolyne was the daughter of Leon Douglas Sr. and Loretha O’Bryant (Rotramel) Young.
Tulsa was always home to Harolyne - and probably her favorite place in the whole world! Her parent’s careers with Boeing relocated their family to Wichita for several years where Harolyne would graduate high school. She spent every summer and many weekends with her grandparents on their farm near Bixby. Harolyne loved spending time outdoors with the horses and shooting guns with her grandfather, Mr. Pipperton. She also was very helpful to her grandmother who ran a country store near 161st & Harvard. Harolyne always looked forward to the day she would return to the Tulsa area. She came back home to Tulsa when she was 18 years old.
Harolyne worked for the Side N Box department store located in downtown Tulsa for many years following high school. She was also employed by the UOP manufacturing company, makers of catalytic converters. As a single mother, Harolyne always worked hard, ensuring that her boys had everything they ever needed.
Harolyne enjoyed going to garage sales, crocheting, and making ceramic pottery. Most would remember her for the beautiful ceramic Christmas trees she made during the holidays. Harolyne also hosted bunco parties and spent many years bowling in Claremore with her UOP associates. A dedicated mother and grandmother, Harolyne’s memory will be eternal in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Surviving family members include her two sons, Brandon Bacon and Kris Bacon and his wife, Crystal; her grandchildren: Riley Lemont, Nathan Allen, & Paige Ranee Bacon; and her sister, Debbie Hahn and her husband, Larry. Harolyne was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Doug Young Jr.
