We lost someone incredibly special. Gwen Fagan wasn’t just a family friend—she was our Gigi. She was a best friend, a mother, and a sister all wrapped up into one for my mother-in-law, and she loved all of us like her own. A lifetime of friendship….
Gwen was truly one of a kind. She loved fiercely and told it like it was, and that’s what made her Gwen. I admired her so much for her ability to live life exactly how she wanted, say what she meant, and never apologize for being herself. She was a woman of her own—and she didn’t give a hoot what anyone thought about it.
She was always there for my kids—more than I’ll probably ever know—because that’s just what she did. She showed up, quietly and powerfully, when they needed her most.
It hurts right now. We’re all grieving—her family, her friends, everyone lucky enough to be loved by her. She was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
Every Christmas, I sent her a card in the mail—yes, a real one, with a stamp. That’s something I want to do more of… send a note, a card, something real, to the people we love. We need to hold each other a little closer.
Gwen, thank you for loving us so well and for treating us like your own and teaching us. I loved you dearly. We will miss you always and forever, we love you Gwen Sparks Fagan
