Gregory Hurst's Obituary
Gregory Mason Hurst, 46, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on July 6, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Greg was born on June 17, 1979, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Cindy and Bryan Hurst. He attended school in Stillwater and later Mannford High School.
Greg was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. His greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was his family. He met the love of his life, Rachel, as a teenager while "cruising Memorial," and in 2024 celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. Together, they raised three beautiful children, and Greg deeply cherished every moment spent with them.
Greg had a lifelong love of sports, weightlifting, UFC and creating his own fantasy sports teams. He enjoyed playing and coaching the game of baseball, and found joy in martial arts including Muay Thai.
Gifted from a young age, Greg had a brilliant mind for numbers. That natural talent led him to a successful career as a finance manager at Marc Miller Buick GMC, where his colleagues became like family and supported him wholeheartedly throughout his illness.
A sports enthusiast, Greg also had a passion for collecting sports cards-a hobby he proudly shared with his son, Mason. Known for his sharp wit and infectious humor, Greg could light up any room with his smile, laughter, and jokes.
Greg is survived by his loving wife, Rachel, and their children: Mason, Taylor, and Kennedy Hurst. He is also survived by his mother, Cindy Hurst of Bixby, OK; his father, Bryan (Donna) Hurst of Owasso, OK; his sister, Erin (Paul) Collins and their children: Caroline, Warner, and Wyatt; his step-siblings: Amy (Joe) Saum and their children: Madison and Christopher, and Jeremy Hawver and his daughter, Tylar; his grandfather, Tony Perna; uncles Ryan Hurst, Larry Harden, and Ernie Harden; numerous cousins; and dear friends who will deeply miss him. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dorothy and Tommy Hurst, and his maternal grandmother, Sue Perna.
Greg is now resting in the arms of Jesus, whom he followed faithfully. His legacy of strength, love, and positivity in the face of adversity will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
