Glynda Fritts Pollard's Obituary
Born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Glynda F. Pollard was the daughter of James Clinton Fritts and Kathleen “Kitty” (Campbell) Fritts. She shared her childhood with her brother, Jim, in El Dorado, Arkansas—a place she always called home. She graduated from high school in 1965 and maintained lifelong friendships, as she was the kind of person who never met a stranger and even welcomed them as family.
Glynda attended the University of Arkansas, where she pledged Tri Delta sorority. It was during this season of life that she met Michael D. Pollard. Mike always said he was the “lucky” one. In 1968, the two were married at First Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas.
They began their married life in St. Louis, Missouri, but soon made Tulsa their permanent home. Glynda worked as a secretary for a few years before dedicating herself fully to being a wife and mother. Together, she and Mike welcomed four children: Liz, Greg, Clint, and finally, Kathleen. Mike often credited Glynda for the many wonderful qualities their children carry today.
While raising her family, Glynda also spent time nurturing children beyond her own home. Her identity was rooted in Christ, loving and serving others. She would often say, “You know your Momma (or Grammy) loves you,” honoring the person in front of her. Glynda had a gift of deeply loving others to the sacrifice of herself.
She was a steady presence—full of joy, gentle, caring, giving, and kind. Her favorite things in life were the people she loved. Whether vacationing at the beach, enjoying a Disney cruise, or spending quiet moments at the lake house looking at the water, Glynda treasured time with her family.
Her faith was central to her life, and she joyfully sang it every day. She was a longtime supporter of YoungLife and actively participated in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) and Community Bible Study (CBS). Glynda and Mike were charter members of Evergreen Baptist Church, where they found deep community and lasting friendships.
Glynda also faithfully loved and cared for Mike through triumph and trial, for better of for worse, reflecting the unwavering love and devotion of a marriage spanning 57 years of life, an inspiration to all who knew them, to all who lived along side them and to those who come behind them.
Having a love for bright colors and flowers, Glynda’s family encourages those attending her service to wear a pop of color—just as bright as she was—as they gather to celebrate her life and honor God.
A celebration of Glynda’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Evergreen Baptist Church, 10301 E. 111th St. South, Bixby, Oklahoma.
