Glen Taff Obituary
Glen Dale Taff, 78, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at his home. Glen will lie in state from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Thursday, September 21, in the Parlor of Bixby-South Tulsa Funeral Service. The family will have a private memorial at a later date.
Born April 26, 1945 in Hon, Arkansas, Glen was the son of Connie and Hazel (Doyel) Taff. No stranger to hard work on the farm, Glen knew how to drive mules to plow at the age of 7. He was also the first farmer in Scott County to grow 100 bushels of corn per acre. Glen was President of the FFA at Waldron High School where he graduated with the Class of 1963.
Following high school, Glen served honorably in the United States Army. While stationed in Germany, he would meet Clarice Cangi, a local resident who sang in the choir on base and would become his wife. The couple returned to the United States and began raising a family together. Clarice passed away unexpectedly in 1977.
Glen later reconnected with Linda, a classmate from Waldron, who was living in the Tulsa area. The couple were married August 17, 1979. Together, they raised four beautiful daughters, Dianna, Scarlet, Crystal, and Cathy.
Later in life, Glen and Linda enjoyed many years on their farm west of Sapulpa where they raised cattle, horses, and blackberries. Glen would pursue a successful career as an electrician, serving as a journeyman, contractor, and eventually, an inspector for Tulsa County until his retirement in 2007.
Glen enjoyed hunting and fishing and laughing with family and friends. He was a gifted storyteller and wonderful listener and took great joy in spending time with and telling others about his grandchildren. He loved his family so very much.
Surviving family include his wife, Linda Taff; his daughters, Dianna Poe and husband Chris of Charlottesville, VA, Scarlet Henley and husband Keith of Tulsa, OK, Crystal Adams and husband Adam of Tulsa, OK, and Cathy Donathan and husband Jon of Sapulpa, OK; his grandchildren, Tucker Poe, Emily Poe, Jake Poe, Emma Kate Henley, Zac Henley, Waylon Adams, Garrett Adams, Amanda Wilson, Bailey Sellers and husband Klee, and Cale Donathan; as well as five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Mary Elizabeth; his wife, Clarice; brothers, Vestal and Gearl Taff, and his sisters, Phyllis Taff and Donnie Leader.
