Geraldine Joann Scheibel passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 at Saint Francis Hospital. She was 86 years old.
Born October 2, 1936 in Denver, Colorado, Gerry was the daughter of George and Mary (Hankel) Ruff. Gerry was born and lived the majority of her life in Denver, Colorado.
She graduated from East High School with the Class of 1954. Gerry married Jerry Donald Scheibel February 4, 1956 at the First German Congregation Church in Denver. She was ever so proud of her German heritage.
Jerry and Gerry raised their three daughters Shelly, Teresa and Mindy in Westminster. The family enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. Gerry pursued a long and successful career in the banking industry. Gerry began working as a teller and worked her way up the ladder, retiring as Vice President of the First National Bank of Louisville. Following her retirement from banking, Gerry spent some time working in payroll for Rocky Flats.
During her leisure time, Gerry enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening and cooking. She was a wonderful mother to her children. Gerry was an avid Broncos and Colorado Avalanche fan.
Surviving family include her two daughters, Teresa Broughton and her husband, John, and Mindy Bradshaw and her husband, Mark; grandchildren, Tad Broughton, Jeremy Cass, Daniel Bradshaw and wife, Tara, Benjamin Bradshaw and wife, Samantha, Hannah Anderson and husband, Jake, Leah McCandless and husband, Josh, and Abigail Bradshaw; 6 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Diana Hult and husband Mike.
Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Scheibel; her daughter Shelly Cass; her grandson Tyler Cass and her sister, Virginia Grady.
