Gary Wayne England passed away Monday, December 26, 2022 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. He was 78 years old. A visitation will be held from 2-5 PM Thursday, December 29, 2022 in the Parlor of Bixby-South Tulsa Funeral Service, 13307 S. Memorial Drive in Bixby.Born January 9, 1944 in Claremore, Gary was the youngest of 7 children to Cullis and Myrtle (Seaton) England. He grew up in Rogers County where he met Phyllis Lewis in the 9th Grade. Gary graduated from Aluwe High School in 1963. Gary and Phyllis were married June 23, 1963 in Girard, Kansas. Gary served honorably in the United States Air Force. He served as a firefighter for the Tulsa Fire Department for almost 27 years. Following his retirement, Gary was an inspector for the public school system in Oklahoma. Gary served as President of the Professional Firefighters of Oklahoma. He loved playing golf, especially the golf trips with his friends. Gary was a member of Battle Creek Golf Club in Broken Arrow.Surviving family include his wife, Phyllis; son, Bryan England and wife, Lou; grandchildren, Jennifer and husband, Jeremy Soileau, Stephanie and husband, Cory Higgins, Alexis and husband, Dustin Richardson, Lizzie England, Cody England, and Nate England; 10 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Billie Ross and Sue Gardner.Gary was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Mayes England, Etheline Mount, Wilma Patterson, and Kenny England.
