Gail Kathleen Evans' Obituary
Gail Kathleen Evans, a vibrant and independent spirit, passed away on March 16, 2025. She was born on December 12, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Max and Emeline (Byrtus) McCormick. She was the eldest of four children, she embraced her role as a loving big sister to her three younger brothers.
Gail attended Edison High School before furthering her education at the University of Oklahoma. After earning her degree, she returned to Tulsa, where she built a successful career. She established her own business, MetroType, which later evolved into ThreadWear and ultimately became Gail Evans Embroidery. Through her work, she connected with many clients, one of whom became the love of her life, Jim Evans. The two married in 1990 and shared 35 wonderful years together, filled with adventure, laughter, and cherished memories.
Together, Gail and Jim enjoyed traveling, attending concerts, including several unforgettable trips to Born & Raised and cultivating their beautiful garden. Gail had a special place in her heart for Airedale dogs, and two years ago, she joyfully rescued Luna. Her third Airedale. She was also an avid cook and baker, known for making delicious cookies and candies every Christmas. She had a passion for quilting, a talent for hosting lively pool parties, and a deep devotion to her family. Gail never missed an opportunity to support her grandchildren at their activities, always showing up with love and enthusiasm.
Curious, adventurous, and always thinking outside the box, Gail embraced life with an open heart and an independent spirit. She was a woman who valued creativity, connection, and the joy of shared experiences.
Gail leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Evans; her son, Michael Evans; her stepdaughter, April Norred and her husband, Craig; and her beloved grandchildren, Sammy, June, and Owen. She is also survived by her brothers, Curt, Brian, and Bob McCormick, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.
Gail's presence will be deeply missed, but the love she shared and the joy she brought to those around her will live on forever.
