A funeral ceremony honoring the life of Frankie Marie Ferrier will be held 11 AM Tuesday, June 4, 2024 in the Rivercrest Chapel of Bixby-South Tulsa Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors from 5-7 PM Monday at the funeral home.
Frankie, aged 83, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Born on December 28, 1940 in Gadsden, Alabama, she was the beloved daughter of William Franklin and Savola (Hughes) Hill.
Frankie grew up in North Tulsa, near the intersection of Pine and Lewis. She attended Lewis Avenue Assembly of God and was a proud member of the Central High School Class of 1959. Her early education also included Cleveland Junior High and Springdale Elementary, where she formed many lifelong friendships. She shared her childhood with her brother, Jerry Hill, who remained a close companion throughout her life.
Frankie raised her daughter, Vicki, in Tulsa before relocating to California, where she embarked on a career as a government contractor specializing in security matters. It was through her work that she met Glenn Ferrier, who would become the love of her life. The two bonded over their shared love of sports, particularly their devotion to the San Francisco 49ers, the Giants, and NASCAR, with a special fondness for Jeff Gordon. Glenn and Frankie were married on March 2, 1985, in San Jose, California, and enjoyed many happy years together until Glenn's passing.
Following Frankie's retirement, she enjoyed many outings with her bank's Horizon Club, as well as the widow's club. Frankie also enjoyed crafts. She was so artistic and by nature, a true perfectionist!
Frankie was known for her fun-loving spirit, her love of dancing, and her enthusiasm for social gatherings. Her home proudly displayed a sign that read "Function Junction," a testament to her love of hosting parties and bringing people together. An avid golfer, she enjoyed spending time on the course and cherished the camaraderie of the sport.
Frankie is survived by her loving daughter, Vicki Partain; her cherished brother, Jerry Hill, and his wife, Shirley; and her three stepchildren, Sue Ferrier, Lance Ferrier, and Sandy Morris. She also leaves behind her step-granddaughter, Gabrielle, who held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenn, and her parents, William and Savola Hill.
Frankie's vibrant spirit, love of life, and dedication to her family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and cherished memories.
In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
