Flora Esmilda Sequeria's Obituary
Flora Esmilda Sequeria, a woman of quiet grace, gentle spirit, and an open heart, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 71 years old. Flora moved through life simply and without pretense - never judgmental, always warm - and left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
For over 30 years, Flora devoted herself to her craft in the kitchen at In the Raw, the beloved Tulsa sushi restaurant, where her dedication and consistency became a quiet cornerstone of the establishment. She took pride in her work and gave it everything she had, day after day, year after year.
A true foodie at heart, Flora had a particular love for seafood boils and held a special place in her heart for Charlie's Chicken. She delighted in the simple pleasures of life - a cold Coca-Cola, a mocha frapp from Starbucks - and savored every sip. Her style was unmistakably her own; Flora had an undeniable love of shoes, and her high heels were her signature. She dressed with intention and carried herself with a quiet confidence.
Flora was a minimalist in the truest sense - she needed little and appreciated everything. She loved people genuinely and freely, and that love was felt by all who crossed her path. Above all, she adored her son. Her love for him was the great constant of her life, fierce and unconditional.
Flora is survived by her beloved son, Hector Sosa; her cherished best friend and chosen daughter, Violet Vivar, alongside Violet's husband Erick and their daughters Karla, Maya, and Erika; and her sister, Maty Campo.
She was loved, and she loved back without reservation. May she rest in the peace she always carried with her.
