Elizabeth Mildred Brown's Obituary
Elizabeth "Liz" Brown, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at the age of 49. Her passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born October 1, 1976 in Tulsa, Liz was the daughter of William and Nancy (Robison) Hartsfield. Liz was raised in Broken Arrow, where she attended Broken Arrow Schools alongside her sister, Jennifer. Those who grew up with her knew her as someone full of life and spirit - the kind of person who lit up a room and made everyone around her feel seen and loved.
Fate brought Liz and the love of her life together in the most fitting of ways - over a shared table at a Waffle House - and the rest, as they say, is history. Liz and John Brown were married on November 12, 2003, at the breathtaking Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. From their union came their two greatest joys, Johnathon and Ella Brown, who were the light of Liz's life and the center of her world.
Those who knew Liz would describe her in three words: sassy, loving, and fiercely loyal. When Liz loved you, she loved you with everything she had - no reservations, no conditions. She was a protector of her family, a tenacious spirit, and the kind of friend and mother who would move mountains for those she cared about.
Liz had a gift for creating beauty in all its forms. She delighted in arts and crafts, hand-crafting Christmas wreaths that brought joy to all who received them. Her favorite colors - pink and purple - could often be found woven into everything she made. She loved unicorns and tie die. She loved music with an infectious enthusiasm, counting The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, and Eminem among her favorites. As a little girl, she never missed a chance to roller skate, which carried the carefree spirit of her youth throughout her life.
In the kitchen, Liz was nothing short of extraordinary. Her table was a gathering place, and her cooking was an act of love. She was renowned for her pasta, smothered pork chops, olive oil chicken, enchilada lasagna, apple sausage dressing, and a seafood oyster dressing that left guests asking for the recipe. A meal made by Liz was a memory in itself.
Liz is survived by her devoted husband, John Brown; their children, Johnathon, and Ella Brown; her sister, Jennifer Robison; and her brothers, James, Jacob, Josh, and Andrew Hartsfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved grandmother, Gladys.
A funeral ceremony honoring Liz will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 9, 2026, in the Rivercrest Chapel, followed by interment at Bixby Cemetery. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather afterward for a reception in the Great Room, where Liz's memory will be celebrated in the way she would have wanted - surrounded by the people she loved.
"When she loved you, it was with all of her heart."
