Elijah Arthur Macias, born December 9, 1993, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Jason Macias and Shannon Coachman, bid farewell to this world on May 9, 2024. His journey began in Lawton but led him to grow up in the vibrant city of Tulsa. Elijah's life was marked by his unwavering spirit, dedication, and love for adventure.
As a young man, Elijah found his passion on the football field, where he poured his heart into the game during his time at Jenks High School. Though he ultimately graduated from Nathan Hale High School in Tulsa.
Following the path of duty and service, Elijah joined the U.S. Army after high school, embarking on a journey of courage and sacrifice. He underwent rigorous training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, belonging to the E-1-19 3rd Platoon "Gun Slingers". He was later stationed in Missouri, where he excelled in his duties and was honored with a distinguished leadership award during AIT in Missouri. His time in the military was a testament to his commitment to his country and his innate leadership abilities.
After his honorable discharge from the Army, Elijah embraced a new chapter in his life, working as a roughneck in the oil fields of Colorado and Oklahoma. His resilience and hard work were evident in every task he undertook, earning him the respect of his peers and colleagues.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Elijah was a true outdoorsman at heart. He found solace and joy in the vast expanse of nature, spending countless hours hunting, fishing, and exploring the wilderness. His love for the outdoors was infectious, and he cherished every moment spent in the company of nature's beauty.
Elijah's adventurous spirit extended to his culinary endeavors as well. He had a passion for grilling and cooking, and his mastery of the grill was evident to all who tasted his creations. With a couple of Traegers already under his belt, Elijah's culinary skills were as impressive as his adventurous pursuits.
In addition to his many qualities, Elijah was known for being easygoing, funny, and possessing a great sense of humor. He had a knack for bringing smiles to the faces of those around him and was not easily offended, making him a beloved friend to many. His good work ethic was matched only by his devotion to fatherhood, as he was a loving and dedicated dad who cherished every moment with his children.
Elijah is survived by his beloved children: Gracie Lee Macias, Evelyn Dixie Macias, and Hunter Pittman; his partner, Dominique March; his father, Jason Macias and his wife, Judy; his mother, Shannon (Coachman) Leon; siblings: Jake, Eric, Hannah and Emma,; grandparents: Cheryl Macias; Robert and Dora Karnes and Joseph Coachman; aunts and uncles: Sancho Macias, Cheron and Mark Allen, and Mary and Bill Cupp. He is also survived by cousins: Robert and Stevie Allen and Joseph and Michelle Shoemake.
In the hearts of those who knew him, Elijah leaves behind a legacy of bravery, resilience, and a zest for life. He will be remembered fondly for his unwavering dedication, his infectious laughter, and the warmth of his friendship.
