I remember Clay & Helen when they visited our church, Bethel Assembly of God back in the early 70's. They vividly shared their story of working with the Manobo Peoples in the Philippines. Today, 11 March 2026 I read a Facebook post from a friend, Bishop David Sobrepena, Pastor of Word of Hope Church in Manila and throughout the Philippines as the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Churches in the Philippines.
He shared how they just held a Crusade among the Manobo Tribes and hundreds professed faith in Jesus Christ. I shared with David how the Faithful work of Clay and Helen built the foundation for his Crusade. How Clay and Helen learned the (underwritten, or not written) spoken Manobo language, then how they created an alphabet, dictionary, and assisted in completing the translation of the Bible in the then written Manobo language.
We all stand on the Shoulders of the Saints who labored before us.
Clay could have chosen to be a Great Chemical Engineer, but he chose the "Higher Calling of Jesus Christ" Well Done Clay & Helen Faithful Servants of the Most Hight.
