Earlene Schrimshaw's Obituary
Earlene Scrimshaw, age 84, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, at her residence in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born July 31, 1941, in Bexar, Arkansas, where she grew up surrounded by family, faith, and the rhythms of farm life.
A spirited young woman, Earlene was a cheerleader at Viola High School, graduating in 1959. She cherished the simple joys of her childhood - helping her mother in the kitchen, washing dishes, and turning up the radio whenever Elvis came on. One of her favorite songs was his gospel rendition of "How Great Thou Art," a hymn that reflected the faith she carried with her throughout her life.
Earlene married Dale Schrimshaw and together they raised three sons whom she loved and adored with her whole heart. She was devoted to her family in every sense of the word.
Professionally, Earlene was admired for her dedication, work ethic, and commitment. She sold Avon, worked part-time at Sears for many years, and ultimately built a remarkable 32-year career at FlightSafety International, where she retired as a Technical Librarian - a role she filled with quiet excellence and pride.
Beyond her professional life, Earlene was a woman of generous spirit and contagious warmth. She loved crafting, building shelving, and the thrill of a night at the casino. Her devotion to Elvis Presley never wavered - a lifelong fan to the very end. Those who knew her best would describe her simply: generous, kind, and loving. Earlene mattered. She was here. And she made a powerful impact on every life she touched.
Earlene is survived by her three sons, Jed Schrimshaw, Kevin Scrimshaw and his wife Janine, and Kerry Scrimshaw and his wife Donna; grandchildren Riley Khaul, Kody Kyle, Justin (Lauren), and Kayla (Jacob); great-grandchildren Isabella, Aiden, Adalyne, Everett, and Tyler; and her beloved siblings, Sharon Hayes (Jay), Jimmy Hensley, Patsy Miller (John), and Marsha Withrow (Randy). She was preceded in death by her parents.
"Rest now, our sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Your beautiful soul has found its eternal home in Heaven. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts - we will miss you and your beautiful smile."
