Douglas Carrol Pilgrim's Obituary
Douglas Carrol Pilgrim, 71, of Jenks, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, April 5, 2025.
Born January 9, 1954, in Tulsa, Doug was the son of Bob and Joye (Hildebrand) Pilgrim. A proud graduate of Jenks High School, Doug played offensive guard for the football team that claimed the state runner-up trophy in 1971.
Doug built a successful career in the aviation industry, beginning at Rockwell where he worked on building airplanes. His career included time in St. Louis and Nashville continuing his work in aviation. In his later years, Doug traveled the world for Safety Training Systems, a company that manufactures aircraft fuselage trainers. This allowed him to contribute to numerous military and civilian airline training programs abroad, installing specialized equipment.
Additionally, Doug assisted his father with their family business, Pilgrim Pest Control. A true outdoorsman at heart, Doug found joy in fishing and hunting throughout his life. He particularly loved fishing for crappie and treasured fishing trips with family and friends to destinations including Mexico and Canada.
Those who knew Doug best describe him as a gentle, caring soul. His love of the outdoors was matched only by his dedication to the family and friend relationships he cultivated throughout his life.
