Dorothy Shirlene Roberson's Obituary
Dorothy Shirlene Real-Roberson left this earth on February 21, 2026, at 87 years of age. Known lovingly as Shirlene, she was the daughter of Guy and Ervil Real.
Shirlene lived a full life. One of her earliest jobs was serving as a soda jerk at Vern Drug, a role she embraced with the cheerful spirit that would follow her throughout her years. In high school, she joined Distributive Education, spending half her day in class and the other half working. Shirlene later became a glove clerk at Vandevers. She was already showing the determination and heart that shaped her life. Shirlene was honored as the DECA Sweetheart for Central High School.
On August 11, 1958, Shirlene married the love of her life, Owen Roberson. She was just 19, and together they built a marriage that lasted 67 beautiful years. Their home was filled with love as they raised their three children: Cindy, Kathy, and Clifford. Over time, their blessings grew to include four grandchildren, a bonus step-grandson, and eight great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.
Shirlene leaves behind a family and circle of friends who will miss her deeply. Her gentle spirit, steady faith, and loving example remain a light to those who knew her. Our hope is to follow her Godly example and one day be reunited.
