Doris La-June Smith, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her Coweta residence on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the age of 91.
Born on October 1, 1932, in Texas, Doris was the cherished daughter of Edwin and Josephine (Zeller) Lynch. Doris met the love of her life, Jimmie, on a blind date at a cookout. They were married on May 10, 1957, in Tulsa and shared 65 wonderful years of marriage until Jimmie's passing in 2022. Doris was a devoted wife, always by Jimmie's side as he participated in Masonic activities at the Akdar Shrine. She was an active supporter of their events, especially the Circus, their largest fundraiser.

Family was her greatest treasure. Soft-spoken and kind, Doris was known for her warm, giving nature and her willingness to help anyone in need. Her role as a peacekeeper in the family was unmatched, and her presence brought comfort and love to all who knew her.
