Services to honor and remember the life of Don Jackson will be 2:00 PM, Friday, August 2, 2019 at RiverCrest Chapel. Interment will follow in Bixby Cemetery. Don passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in Tulsa. He was 84. Born February 15, 1935 in Seminole, OK, Don was the son of Jake Jackson and Pauline Anderson Arnold. After spending a few years in Seminole, the family moved to Sapulpa. There, Don lettered in football and became a graduate of Sapulpa High School in 1953. Upon graduation, Don went to work at a local brick company, known as 'The Brickyard', making bricks. He later received training as a machinist and spent most of his career, as a machinist, with Continental Industries. Don retired in 2000. As a young man, Don was very active in sports. He loved playing softball, golf, and especially enjoyed snow skiing at his favorite resort, Crested Butte, Colorado. He also appreciated spending time outdoors. In fact, his children have many fond memories of weekends at the lake with Dad. When not at the lake, Don could be found hunting or fishing whenever he could.Don was a big supporter of sports team and could often be found watching TV and cheering on the OU Sooners, Dallas Cowboys, and the Oklahoma City Thunder. He also enjoyed watching westerns.In his younger years, Don attended and was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church in Tulsa. He later attended Riverview Baptist, in Bixby, until his health prevented him from participating.Don was a man who has been described as a loving father, funny and very ornery. He had a faithful dog who goes by the names of "Shadow" or "Old Girl" who, along with his family, will miss him greatly. Don passed away July 30, 2019. He was 84. Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are: daughters, Nancy Jackson and Diann West; sons, Don Wayne "Donnie" Jackson and Jimmy D. Jackson; eight grandchildren: Angela Smith, Sarah Jackson, Kerry Hamm, Shannon Snow, Dawn Jackson, Chasity Jackson, Jimmy Jackson and Johnny Jackson; ten great-grandchildren: Isaac, Madison, MacKenzie, Laurynn, Tyler, Taylor, Austin, Jesse, Kaylee and Ashley; four great-great grandchildren: Jace, Navaeh, Aleyah and Elijah; nephew, Glen Gordon; nieces: Linda McBurnett and Melody Agee. He is also survived by and a host of other relatives and many friends.Don was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Jackie Coats and brother, Jerry Arnold.Service RiverCrest Chapel 13329 S.
