Services to honor and remember the life of Denny Tyler will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the First Christian Church of Sapulpa (220 E. Lee Ave.). Family will receive friends for a visitation from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the former Family Worship Church of Kellyville (35 S. Main). Denny passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 in Sapulpa. He was 81.Denny Ray Tyler was born June 3, 1937 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to George and Opal (Sweeten) Tyler. He graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1955 and after a short time at Oklahoma A & M College, joined his dad at the family business, Tyler Furniture and Appliances. He married Leona Lee Smith on April 23, 1956 at the home of his aunt and uncle in Ponca City. He and brothers Mike and Rick purchased the business in 1977 and worked together until they closed the store in 2009. Denny was an avid hunter/collector during his lifetime, starting with his coin collection, moving to arrowheads (his passion), restoring cars, then back to the arrowheads. His conception of relaxing and having fun was: work. He put many miles on his mule (work vehicle) at the lake while cutting down trees. He was also a faithful member of Frist Christian Church. He died at home after an extended battle with lung disease and congestive heart failure on Sunday, October 14, 2018.He was preceded in death by: his parents: George and Opal; his grandma, Anni Loper and granddaughter, Ashley Ann Tyler.He is survived by: his wife, Leona of the home; children: Denise and Dave Randall of Sapulpa; Tammy and Jamie Allen of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; Tim and Jodi Tyler of Sapulpa; Derrick and Kerri Tyler of Sapulpa; grandchildren: Brian and Jenny Banks, Gretchen Campbell, Sarah and Jon Henninger, Rachel and Chad Moore, Brandon and Megan Tyler, Shane and Elisabeth Allen, Chase and Lyndsey Tyler, Austin Tyler, Lindsay and Joe Edmonds, Christopher and Ashley Williams and Sydney Tyler; great-grandchildren: Aidan and Riley Campbell, Dax Sommer, Lyric and Ella Henninger, Broc, Caden, Maddux and Maci Moore, Hudson, Harrison and Holland Allen, Mattie Tyler, Liddy Alder and Oren Edmonds and Sawyer Williams.
