Services to honor and remember the life of Dennis Lee Ebright will be at 12:00pm October 8, 2022 at Asbury Church, Tulsa. Dennis passed away on September 16, 2022 at the age of 79.
On July 10, 1943, Dennis Lee Ebright was one of two twin boys born to parents Paul and Lillian (Strome) Ebright in Pickerington, Ohio. Raised in Ohio, Dennis enjoyed playing sports and excelled in baseball, basketball, and track. He was also involved in church activities and Boy Scouts. Following high school, Dennis enlisted in the United States Air Force where he honorably served his country. With his tour of duty complete, he relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he attended Spartan School of Aeronautics and trained as a jet engine mechanic. Upon completion of his education and certification, he become an employee of American Airlines. Dennis would continue faithful service with American for the duration of his career before retiring in 2003 after 36 years of service.
When he was not at work, Dennis could be found fishing, hunting, sailing and traveling. He loved spending time outdoors and spent countless hours attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting and school events. He attained his private pilot’s license and enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. Another favorite pastime was creating beautiful wood carvings and sharing them with family and friends.
Described as outgoing, friendly and loving, Dennis was a terrific father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family – always putting them first. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and friend. He was an active member of Asbury Church where he was involved with the Seekers community and also served as an usher.
He is survived by his children: daughter, Denise Rable and husband Randy; son, Chris and wife Buffy Ebright; grandchildren: Nick and Jennifer Rable and Elise Ebright; brothers: Ron, Dean, Keith and Glenn, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by a grandson, Jacob.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Jacob Ebright Memorial Scholarship Fund through Asbury Church, Tulsa.
