Debra Lynn Sands' Obituary
Debra Lynn Sands, born November 22, 1952, in Glendale, California, to Robert Lloyd and Audrey LaRae (Scott) Stanyer, passed away on May 1, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Debra pursued her education at Arizona Western College, where she earned a degree in criminology. It was during her time there that she met Gary Neumeyer, a professor of law, who would later become her beloved husband.
While attending college, Debra worked diligently at a casino in the security department. However, after marrying Gary on December 7, 1996, in Arizona, she made the heartfelt decision to dedicate herself to being a homemaker, prioritizing her family and their happiness above all else.
Throughout her life, Debra traversed various locations, including Glendale, California, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Yuma, Arizona, before settling in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where Gary sought to be closer to family during retirement. Sadly, Gary passed away September 30, 2022.
Debra was deeply rooted in her faith and was known for her unwavering commitment to prayer and giving back to her community. She believed in the importance of tithing and made it a priority to give when able.
An incredibly talented artisan, Debra had a passion for crafting, particularly in jewelry making. Her creations were not only beautiful but also served as tokens of love, often given as gifts or donated to charitable causes.
Debra will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she has departed from this world, her legacy of love, faith, and generosity will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched.
Rest in peace, Debra Lynn Sands. Your light will forever illuminate our lives.
