Debra Sue Hibdon passed away on July 10, 2025, at the age of 77, following several years of declining health. Born on September 8, 1947, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Debra was the daughter of Clyde and Anna Sue (Martin) Duncan. She was the second youngest of twelve children in a large, hardworking family. Growing up with limited means, Debra learned early the values of resilience, generosity, and service-qualities that shaped her entire life.
She married Harold Davis, and together they raised three children: David, Michelle, and Gary. While serving as a devoted stay-at-home mother-without even a driver's license-Debra found ways to support her family and community. She became a trusted babysitter to many children in the Bixby area and had a natural gift for connecting with kids. That bond only deepened with her grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as a warm, playful, and deeply present grandmother-her most cherished role.
Over the years, Debra wore many hats. She worked alongside Harold in his electrical business, later held positions at Bixby Manor Nursing Home, Doc's Country Mart, and finished her working years at Walmart. She and her sisters also ran Sherrill's Restaurant, where Debra's love for cooking and community came together. She even operated her own cleaning company for a time, always striving to contribute in meaningful ways.
Following the end of her first marriage, Debra later married John Rowan, who preceded her in death. In time, she found love again and married Ollie Hibdon, with whom she shared many faithful and fulfilling years.
Debra found great joy in simple pleasures-fishing, preparing home-cooked meals, and attending church. She especially enjoyed helping in children's ministry, always finding purpose and fulfillment in lending a hand wherever it was needed.
She had an instinctive ability to sense when someone was in need. Whether it was food, friendship, or a place at the Thanksgiving table, Debra extended her heart and home freely. Her family often joked that holiday gatherings became part reunion, part community outreach-thanks to Debra's open-door kindness. It was her way of living out her deep compassion, and her children are proud to carry on her legacy of generosity and care.
Debra is survived by her loving husband, Ollie Hibdon; her children: David Davis and wife Kim, Michelle Wallace and husband Mike, and Gary Davis and wife Angela; grandchildren: Jonathan Davis and wife Michelle, Heather Davis, Bethany Loveless and husband Tyler, Andrew Ratley, Spencer Davis, Roger Seago, Colby Meece, Hayden Rayner, Graham Davis, and Micah Davis; great-grandchildren: Kensley Brese, Havyn Meece, Charles Davis, and Finn Davis; and by her brother, Michael Duncan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and ten of her siblings.
Debra's life was defined by love in action-faithfully caring for those around her with humility, kindness, and a servant's heart. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
