Cruz Anaya Villeda's Obituary
Cruz Adan Anaya-Villeda was born on October 18, 2012, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Leonel Adan Anaya Romero and Esmeralda Villeda.
Cruz was raised in Tulsa, where he attended Tulsa Public Schools, most recently as a 7th-grade student. He was a bright and spirited young boy who found joy in the simple things-playing Fortnite with his cousins and friends, enjoying his favorite meals from Panda Express, sipping on Dr Pepper, and, of course, lovingly pestering his big sister, Arelis.
At nearly 8 years old, Cruz was diagnosed with brain cancer. He faced his diagnosis with incredible strength and resilience, achieving remission for two years. When his illness returned, he began treatment at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where he continued to fight with courage and determination.
Cruz passed away on April 21, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and will forever cherish his memory.
He is survived by his father, Leonel Anaya Romero and his companion, Janeth Damin; his mother, Esmeralda Villeda; his sisters, Arelis Anaya and Ariana Anaya; his brother, Javier Diaz; his grandparents, Carlos Anaya and Claura Romero; his uncles, Fabian Anaya and Juan Carlos Anaya; and his cousins, Juan Anaya, Osvaldo Anaya, Neida Anaya, and Jairo Anaya. He also leaves behind many other extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
