Corinne Herberger Costello's Obituary
Corinne Costello, 98, passed away in her sleep December 6, 2025. She was a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, and a very dedicated civic leader.
The Service will be held December 16th at Bixby South Tulsa Funeral Home, Bixby, OK. Viewing will begin at 2PM and the Service starts at 3PM. A reception will follow at 4PM. She will be interred the following day in Norborne, Missouri.
Corinne was born in March 1927 in Carrollton, Missouri. She was the daughter of Carl and Katherine Herberger and grew up in nearby Norborne. She began her career in banking there and in 1950 married Charles D. Viles.
In 1952 they moved from Dallas to Odessa, TX where they had one child, Dudley Charles Viles. After briefly working in a startup savings and loan with Charles, she embarked on a decadeslong career of various leadership positions in multiple civic organizations. Corinne worked with groups that focused on helping those less fortunate and with organizations that worked for the betterment of the Odessa community. She received numerous citations over the years for her service.
Charles died due to an accident in 1963, and Corinne raised Dudley by herself until marrying Ed Costello in 1974. He passed in 1995 following a long illness. She moved to Tulsa in 2006 to be closer to her son and family.
She is survived by her son Dudley and his wife, Judy, grandchildren Grayson and Brie Viles, her younger brother Charles Herberger and several nieces and nephews.
