Connie Belinda Whitworth's Obituary
Connie's early years were enriched by the warmth of family life in Bixby. She shared countless moments with her father at the family store at 131st and Memorial. Connie graduated from Bixby High School, Class of 1974, marking the beginning of her journey into adulthood.
For over 25 years, Connie dedicated herself to the success of American Gutter and Sheet Metal, where she served as the office manager. Her commitment and hard work were evident in every aspect of her life.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Connie was a beacon of creativity and joy. She possessed a remarkable talent for crafting and cooking, delighting those around her with her homemade creations. Her passion for quilting, card games, and sewing brought people together, creating cherished memories that will endure.
A true enthusiast of life, Connie was an avid fan of pay-per-view fights, particularly boxing, and hosted many social gatherings centered around these events. Her infectious positivity and unwavering faith in God endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Connie had a unique gift for offering sage advice, always seeing the good in people, and approaching life with an optimistic outlook. Her cup was perpetually "half full," inspiring those around her to embrace hope and kindness.
Connie's spiritual foundation was rooted in the Freewill Baptist Church, where she was raised with strong values that guided her throughout her life.
Connie leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. She is survived by her daughter, Tawnya Burgess, and her son, Jason Scoggins, and his wife, Sara. Her memory will forever be cherished by her grandchildren, Samantha Scoggins, Rilee Scoggins, Teylor Scoggins, Colton Burgess, and Holly Burgess. Connie is also survived by her brother, Frank Gregory, along with nephews Dewy Gregory and wife Kristy, Scott Gregory and wife Jarka, Tom Gregory, niece Jodi Woosley, and husband Tom.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Lee and Lucille Gregory, her brother Dwain Gregory, and her brother Danny Campbell.
A funeral ceremony honoring Connie's remarkable life will take place at 11 AM on Monday, May 13, 2024, in the Rivercrest Chapel of Bixby Funeral Service. Prior to the ceremony, the family will receive visitors from 5-7 PM on Sunday evening.
Connie's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her memory will forever shine brightly in the lives of those she touched. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and light she brought into the world.
