Charles Ray Rotramel's Obituary
Charles Ray Rotramel passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, at his residence in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, at the age of 85.
Charles was born on Christmas Eve, 1939, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Raymond Lee and Virginia June (Buster) Rotramel. He was raised in Collinsville, where he spent his youth as a hot rodder, working on old cars with his buddies and chasing girls who were drawn to his Elvis Presley good looks.
In 1958, Charles married Jerrie Powell and their union brought four children into the world: Robbie, David, Pamela, and Lisa. Charles later had two sons, Charles Dean and Michael Lee, with his second wife, Virginia, and a son, Dewayne, with his third wife, Mary. Charles married Shirley Rotramel in the early 70's and welcomed four stepchildren into his heart: Donna, Michael, Chris, and Mark.
Charles worked for Spartan Aircraft before beginning a career building heat exchangers at Yuba Heat, Western, and Shell and Tube. A man of many talents and interests, he loved playing the guitar, listening to country music and 1950s rock and roll, and driving his prized 1969 Z28. He enjoyed country-western, square dancing, and swing dancing.
Known for his humor and ornery nature, Charles was quite the jokester who loved teasing others, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a genuine love for people and treasured time spent visiting with family and friends. His faithful Yorkshire terrier, Sammy, was by his side until his passing, accompanying him on countless car, golf cart and even lawn mower rides around the yard.
Charles is survived by his sister Judy Steed; children Robbie North and husband Ronald North, David Rotramel, Pamela Stewart and fianc Jamie Erwin, Lisa Belcher, Charles Dean Rotramel, Michael Rotramel and wife Ellie Rotramel, and Dewayne Rotramel; his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Rotramel; his parents, Raymond and Virginia; his stepdaughter, Donna; his granddaughter, Cassidy; and his sister, Loretta.
A service honoring Charles will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in the Rivercrest Chapel, followed by a reception in the Great Room. Interment is scheduled for 2:00 PM at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville.
