A memorial ceremony honoring the life of Charles Edward Morrow will be held 3 PM Thursday, August 5 in the Rivercrest Chapel. Charles passed away Friday, July 23, 2021 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was 66 years old.
Ed was born on Valentine’s Day in 1956, the son of Charles and Nancy (Phillips) Morrow. He attended Barnard Elementary in Tulsa and graduated from Jenks High School with the Class of 1974. Ed attended Oklahoma State University. For many years, he worked as a cashier for Lowe’s Home Improvement, Reasor’s grocery store, and the Phillips gas station on Cherry Street.
A lover of theater, Ed played a role in the “Drunkard and the Olio” at the playhouse on Riverside. He absolutely LOVED Facebook, especially during COVID. It enabled him to be connected socially to his friends. Although he had computer phobia, he took to it immediately. Ed loved movies and was a walking encyclopedia of movie trivia, especially movies of the 40s and 50s. He also liked television. Law and Order SVU was his favorite show. Ed enjoyed all types of music and art, especially Robert Mapplethorpe.
A very likeable person, Ed made many friends through the years who will miss him dearly.
Surviving family members include his sister, Sylvia Walton and husband, Wayne of Bixby; nieces and nephews, John Lindsay, Jennifer Lindsay, Sheri Ann Black, Christopher Alves, David Alves Jr., and Matthew Alves; and a host of distant relatives and friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Charlene Holland and Willene Morrow.
