A memorial ceremony honoring Carolyn Smart will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 12:00 Noon, at the Mannford Senior Center, 100 Cimarron Drive in Mannford, OK. Carolyn passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 in Sand Springs, OK. She was 83 years old. Born December 26, 1938 in Anthony, KS, Carolyn was the daughter of Don Albert and Ora Lee (Craig) Lacy. She graduated from Enid High School in 1957 where she was a cheerleader, majorette with the band, and acted in several high school plays. Carolyn married Nelson “Pete” Smart in 1958.Through the years, Carolyn lived in Houston, TX, Tahlequah, Bartlesville, Jenks, and Mannford, OK. She worked on a children’s morning TV show in Enid where she played the role of “Carolyn Cottontail.” Carolyn also worked as a librarian in Bartlesville. Surviving family members include her three children, Kelly Buenrostro of Franklin, TN, Daymond Smart and his wife, Mary of Sapulpa, OK, and Wayde Smart and his wife, Becky of Sand Springs, OK.Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Larry Lacy.
