Carolyn Borucki Obituary Due to the current restrictions placed on public gatherings, a private family service honoring the life of Carolyn Sue Borucki is being planned. Carolyn passed from this life on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at her home in Bixby. She was 76. Born May 23, 1943, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Carolyn Sue was the daughter of William “Bill” Campbell and Annette (Howard). She was also the proud sister to brother, Dennis, and sister, Maryanna. Attending Catholic schools, Carolyn was a member of the first graduating class of Bishop Kelley High School. It was there that she met a handsome schoolmate, Clifford Borucki. Upon meeting their Sophomore year, the two began dating and married a few years out of high school on October 17, 1964. In their early years of marriage, Carolyn would work as a secretary for a law firm and later for an accountant. She would fulfill her true passion, that of being a full-time mother and homemaker, as they began welcoming their children: Keith, Leslie, Susan, and Richard. As a mother, Carolyn was loving, encouraging, and consistent. She was not afraid to fight for her kids and for whatever things she believed were right. Indeed, there were times she would NOT back down. Although this might not have been fun, at the time, for her children, they certainly admire that quality now and may even see a little bit of their mother in themselves today. A wonderful friend, Carolyn, has had some of her best friends since childhood and school days. Through the years, she was known to run up rather large telephone bills as she helped to solve, or at least give great advice to many going through life’s difficulties. Having the gift of gab certainly helped Carolyn to sell quite a bit of Sarah Coventry jewelry, over time, and to practically launch her own brand of draperies and window coverings. Word of mouth and a great product helped to keep her very busy! As if she was not busy enough, Carolyn became heavily involved in the soccer community in Bixby. She would help to organize youth leagues, even serving as registrar for numerous years seasons, but it would not end there. She was also a valuable team member on the Bixby Wonder Women soccer team. It is a humorous and widely known fact that Carolyn was never on time – for anything. Her family and friends often joked that she must NOT have had the same clock as others. To make matters worse, try mixing getting somewhere on time with the morning – that combination rarely had a good outcome! One instance where this could be seen was upon needing to get a couple of the kids to an early morning dentist appointment. Unfortunately, they all left the house without Carolyn’s much needed morning blend of coffee. The perfect remedy, for this, was to pull into a Burger King to get her morning caffeine fix. A problem occurred when she pulled into the drive-thru the wrong way. She proceeded to tell her daughter, Leslie, just to let the people at the window know that she needed a cup of coffee. That fact must have been rather apparent when the first words out of the associate’s mouth were, “Are you having a bad morning?” Luckily, they had the coffee, and the carload was able to get on their way. Obviously, they arrived late for the appointment! Speaking of driving, Carolyn had a knack for driving the car and returning it to the garage with relatively no gas in it whatsoever. This was demonstrated when Cliff once backed out of the garage only to run out of gas as he began driving in front of his neighbor’s house. Carolyn had a great sense of humor and a distinctive laugh. She was known to be quite meticulous and always striving for perfection. She was an avid reader and could give a quick synopsis of the latest Consumer Reports as she guided others to make smart purchases and decisions. There were a number of years that she likely had the cleanest windows in Bixby, and she certainly had the smartest and most athletic grandchildren in the world. More than anything, Carolyn was always present for her family. She often did things for others but was reluctant to accept anything in return. This loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and dear friend will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. As slow as she was known to be, the family takes comfort in knowing that she’s at least half-way to Heaven by now – fully believing that she will make it through the gates just before they close. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Cliff Borucki; children and grandchildren: son, Keith Borucki, and wife, Sherry and their children: Beau and Taitt Borucki and Skyler Brown; daughter, Leslie Goodson, and husband, Michael and their children: Grant and Connor Goodson; daughter, Susan Borucki, and her children: Taylor Borucki and Jake, Vann, Meg, and Mallory Putnam; son, Richard Borucki and wife, Tiffany and their children: Campbell and Stella Borucki. She is also survived by her sister, Maryanna, along with other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: father, William Campbell, mother, Annette (Howard) Goldsmith and step-father, Jim Goldsmith, and a brother, Dennis Campbell.
