A committal service will follow at 3 PM on Saturday at the Green Hill Cemetery, Davis, OK where Carol will be laid to rest next to her husband, Lt. Col. Jack Greer. Family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8 PM Friday evening at Bixby Funeral Service. Carol passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018 in Tulsa. She was 83. Born August 16, 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa, Carol was the eldest of two children and the only daughter of Joshua Perry and Gladys (Davis) Law. Raised in her birth community, Carol attended and graduated high school in Des Moines. During her youth, she helped to care for her younger brother, John, which certainly helped to prepare her for motherhood.Once finished with high school, Carol moved to sunny California to find out what life had in store for her. It was while vacationing with a group of friends, on a Hawaiian cruise, that she met a young and handsome Air Force serviceman named Jack Greer. The two certainly hit it off and they continued their relationship once back home. This young couple decided to marry on June 25, 1960 in a San Mateo, California wedding ceremony. It would come out years later that this was actually their second wedding as an earlier ceremony had occurred in Reno, Nevada. The earlier ceremony was not only a display of their love and affection, but it also helped them to meet the requirements to live in married housing on Travis Air Force Base. Once married, Carol took over the duties of homemaker. She not only cared for her husband and their home, but she also became a mother of two. First, to son, Gary, in 1961, and later adopting daughter, Lynn, (born in 1965) at age four. The Greer family moved with the Air Force, living in New York, Washington, Illinois, Ohio, Delaware, and then back to Oklahoma. As empty nesters, they even spent time overseas in Saudi Arabia. No matter where they lived or what dangers presented themselves, as Carol's husband spent a career in the military, the one thing that remained strong, steady, and consistent was Carol's faith in her Creator and Savior, Jesus. A student of the Bible and a prayer warrior, Carol loved to read and was a self-taught scholar of the Scriptures. Once living in Tulsa, where Jack was a professor at Oral Roberts University (ORU), Carol worked for doctors at the City of Faith and later for Oral Roberts Ministries where she was a prayer partner. A partner also to her husband, Carol and Jack enjoyed traveling together when time permitted and when the opportunity presented itself. It was during these outings, that Carol often wanted to retrace some of Jack's steps throughout his military career. As a result, the two found themselves visiting Europe, Singapore and Thailand among others. When not traveling, Carol could be found spending time with her family. Having a deep love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, one wouldn't have to look very far to find family photos of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren proudly displayed at Carol's home. Always keeping a clean home, Carol loved to entertain guests. A phenomenal cook, she used this gift as another way to serve others often whipping up, one of many, special recipes that she could remember without ever referring to a cookbook. She also loved baking her fabulous oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for her grandkids (that is - if they didn't find the dough first). In addition, Carol enjoyed gardening, especially tending to her daffodils, tulips, fresh vegetables and tomatoes. Words used to describe Carol include: appreciative, classy, compassionate, hospitable and a servant. All of these traits could be found in Carol whether it was demonstrated through her hosting friends and family or in her hand-written notes of encouragement. These characteristics were also seen in her daily conversations with her best friends: Dora, Lucile, Carole and Dawn and in the nightly talks she engaged in with her son, Gary, who referred to his mom as 'his rock'.This rock, caring mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend will certainly be missed by those who knew and loved her, but they are grateful for the life they were able to share with Carol and they are now rejoicing because of the new home she has in the presence of Jesus. Carol is survived by: her son, Gary Greer and wife, Melissa of Spring, TX; her daughter, Lynn Morgan of Oklahoma; a special son-in-law, Steve Morgan and wife, Tommie of Bixby, OK; her brother, John Law and wife, Liz of Billings, Montana; a nephew, Dean Law of Bowman, ND; grandchildren: Chloe Greer, Stirling Greer; David Morgan and wife, Christian; James Morgan and wife, Lori and AnnaLee Morgan; great-grandchildren: Kember, Jack, Paisley and Annabelle. She was preceded in death by: her parents and her husband, Lt. Col.
