A candle was lit in remembrance
Dear loving sister , there are not words. Our family life has been so rich. Our parents, Al and Lil Salyer of Norman Oklahoma planted the seeds of love and generosity. They were married almost fifty years. He had Murdock-Salyer Chevrolet in the "50s then started Al Salyer Olds Cadillac Nissan in the "60s until his retirement.. Brenda married Don Philips in 1979. They met in Dallas and moved to Tulsa and started The Brooke Design, their interior design and home and business building company. Her daughter Brooke Crew lives in Westin CT and is also a brilliant designer.. She has three sisters, Shelley Murphy, Janie Salyer and DeAnn Lindsey. DeAnn flew away in 2010. She and Don have a fur baby named Maggie. She normally sleeps on his side of the bed, but chose to be on Brenda's the night she departed. Whenever I find a coin on the ground, I say Daddy dropped it for me My mother and sisters leave their essence of beauty and laughter and endless hugs. It makes me happy to share it everyday. Thank you friends a family
My Memories of Aunt Brenda will forever live in my heart! Some funny, some sad and some moments I wanted to scream. When my momDeAnn and I would travel and share Hotel rooms with Brenda and Brooke and she would snoreLike a Bear. They wouldn’tLetMe turnOn the TV to buffer the noise. I would retire to the Lobby to read Travel Brochures until sunrise when she would wake peacefully and rested! She was my favorite Chef and inspired me with all of her talent. She taught me to appreciate the finer things in life and the art of keeping a tidy house as well as decorating and making animal shape pancakes as a child! She will forever be missed and I’m happy that my mother has her dear sister again by her side! Cheers to a Kendal Jackson sweet girl! SeeYou girlsOn the other side! Muah
